What is MSC Therapy?
Mesenchymal stem cell therapy uses versatile repair cells that help the body calm inflammation and rebuild tissue. At our Bangkok Mediplex centre we work with umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells that are expanded, tested and released from our own GMP-certified laboratory, so every vial that reaches a patient has a documented quality history. Programs are prescribed only after our medical team has reviewed your medical background, current medications and treatment goals.

How it works
The sequence, from first records to follow-up
- 01
Records first
We read your imaging, bloodwork and medication list before anyone talks about dosing. If the records do not support a cellular approach, we say so plainly and stop the process there.

Cell line selection
Our laboratory allocates a cord-derived cell line whose viability, sterility and passage number are already documented, then reserves it against your treatment date.
- 03
Release testing
The reserved batch runs a final sterility, endotoxin and viability check. If a single result sits outside range, we move your date rather than the threshold.
- 04
Infusion day
Cells arrive in the treatment room within a narrow time window from release. Infusion runs slowly, usually forty to sixty minutes, with observation afterwards.
- 05
Three-point review
We review you at six weeks, three months and six months. Function is the measure — stairs, sleep, grip, walking distance — not a single scan.
What to expect
Before
You will be asked to stop anti-inflammatory medication for several days beforehand, since it works against the biology we are trying to encourage. Hydration matters more than fasting.
During
A cannula, a slow drip, and a chair you will be in for most of the morning. Some patients feel briefly warm as the infusion starts; that settles within minutes.
After
Mild fatigue on the first evening is common and expected. Most patients notice nothing for three to four weeks, then describe change arriving quietly rather than suddenly.

MSC Therapy — Questions Patients Ask
Where do the cells actually come from?
Umbilical cord tissue donated after healthy, full-term deliveries with written consent. Donors are screened serologically, and every batch we release carries a traceable identifier back to that screening.
Will my body reject donor cells?
Mesenchymal cells carry low levels of the surface markers the immune system uses to identify foreign tissue, which is why they are used without tissue matching. That does not make them risk-free, and our medical team will explain the specific risks that apply to you.
How many cells will I receive?
Dose is calculated from body weight and the target tissue, not sold as a package. Your written plan states the exact cell count per infusion and the interval between them.
Can I see the laboratory paperwork?
Yes. Patients can request the certificate of analysis for their batch, covering viability, sterility, endotoxin and mycoplasma results. We would rather you ask.
What happens if it does not work for me?
Some patients see limited change, particularly where cartilage loss is advanced or where the driver is mechanical rather than inflammatory. We tell you at the six-week review if the picture is not moving, instead of selling a second course.
