Muscular Dystrophy

Supportive care for a progressive condition — honestly, not a cure.

Care for muscular dystrophy at Bangkok Stem Cell Center

What is Muscular Dystrophy?

Muscular dystrophy is a group of genetic conditions causing progressive muscle weakness, and the pace and pattern differ considerably between types and individuals. Families often arrive having read hopeful claims online about stem cells reversing it, and we think it's important to be straight with you from the first conversation about what current evidence actually supports.

How regenerative medicine supports it

We work alongside your neurologist rather than instead of them, and we do not claim to halt or reverse disease progression, because the evidence for that simply isn't there. What we can offer is supportive care — NAD IV and vitamin IV therapy for general energy and wellbeing, alongside symptom management support — with realistic, function-based goals reviewed regularly. If a family is hoping for disease reversal, we'll say clearly that this isn't something we or, to our knowledge, anyone can currently deliver.

If the evidence for treating muscular dystrophy this way is thin, we will tell you before you book — and the review is not billed.

Muscular Dystrophy — Questions Patients Ask

Can stem cell therapy stop the progression of muscular dystrophy?

No — we don't believe the current evidence supports that claim, and we won't tell you otherwise to make a sale. We're happy to explain why we take this position if it helps.

So what can you actually offer?

Supportive care aimed at energy, general wellbeing and comfort alongside your neurology team's management, not a treatment that changes the disease course.

Will you coordinate with my child's specialist?

Yes, always, and we won't proceed with anything that conflicts with their existing care plan.

Have you treated muscular dystrophy patients before?

We've supported some patients with general wellbeing care, always alongside their neurologist, and always with the same honest expectations we're setting here.

Is there any harm in trying IV therapy alongside standard care?

Generally it's low risk when done properly, but we'll only proceed after understanding your full medical picture and confirming it won't interfere with anything else you're on.
